CNGSA Recreational Teams Forming Now

Hey Girls!! Come play softball for the fastest growing league in Central Nebraska. CNGSA is now forming the 2008 season Recreational League. Registrations are still being taken so it is not too late for you to register.

CNGSA will be accepting registrations for the 2008 season until May 19th. The season runs from May 19 through July 11 with our annual Recreational Tournament starting the week of July 7th.

Don't wait; sign up today and join all of your friends for all of the fun and excitement of playing softball with CNGSA.

Scorpions 8U Try Out Dates

How would you like to play for the most successful competitive girls softball program in Grand Island history?

Do you have what it takes to compete with the best teams Nebraska has to offer?

If you answered yes, The Scorpions want you!! Due to the number of athletes wanting to play Scorpions Softball, CNGSA has added an 8 and Under Scorpions age division.

The 8U Scorpions team will provide more opportunity for young athletes to experience all of the fun and excitement at tournaments you have heard so much about.

If you want to represent the Scorpions program and the great city of Grand Island as we play some of the most competitive teams available; you should come to our try out.

CNGSA - 8U Scorpions Try Out Information:

The try outs will be held on Sunday, April 20th and April 27th, 2008 at the Grand Island Senior High School Softball Fields.

8U will try out 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm.

All players should bring a glove to play catch with and should wear cleats if available.

Players are encouraged to bring a bat and helmet if they have one. There will be bats and helmets available to those players who do not have them.

2008 Players Clinic

CNGSA will be hosting their annual girls fastpitch players clinic on Sunday, April 6, 2008 at Ryder Park Fields 1, 2, and 3 in Grand Island, NE. Coaching Staff from Grand Island Senior High School will be on hand for the instruction of this clinic. If you have an interest in learning fundamental softball skills from area experts, you should plan to attend.

This is a free clinic for players who are or will be registered with CNGSA. Sign in for the clinic will start 30 minutes prior to the start times listed below.

Instruction for the 5-6, 7-8, and 9-10 age divisions will start at 1:00 pm and end at 2:30 pm.

Instruction for the 11-12, 13-14, and 15-16 age divisions will start at 3:00 pm and end at 4:30 pm.

CNGSA would like to thank the Grand Island Senior High School softball coaching staff for their continued support.

CNGSA - Scorpions Try Out Information:

The try outs will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2008 in the gym at Walnut Middle School in Grand Island.

14U will try out 9:00 am - 10:45 am

12U will try out 11:00 am - 12:45 pm

10U will try out 1:00 pm - 2:45 pm

At the very least, all players should bring a glove to play catch with. Players are encouraged to bring a bat and helmet if they have one. There will be bats and helmets available to those players who do not have them.

The CNGSA Scorpions are set to host a Class "B" and "C" girls fastpitch softball tournament at Fonner Park in Grand Island, NE. This tournament is scheduled for May 23 - 25, 2008. Age groups included are 10U, 12U, and 14U.

To register your team for this tournament, print and fill out the Registration and Roster files which can be accessed below. Registration deadline is May 16, 2008 or until the tournament is full.
